Pratish Datta

Scientist

A Scientist in the NTT Research CIS Lab, Pratish Datta received his M.S. in Mathematics and Ph.D. in Cryptography from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 2012 and 2017, respectively. Prior to joining the company, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the NTT Secure Platform Laboratories in Japan under the supervision of Dr. Tatsuaki Okamoto.

Pratish’s background in mathematics is the cornerstone of his work in hybrid strategies of provable security. His focus is on designing cryptographic algorithms that offer advanced functionalities, practical efficiency, and strong mathematical security. Specifically, he is interested in the design and analysis of functional encryption, attribute-based encryption, signatures, and pseudorandom functions. His findings have been published at ASIACRYPT, PKC, and ISC, and in journals like Theoretical Computer Science and Algorithmica.
